Here is a great animation of a 4 rotor engine. Although the port setups are different that that of the LeMans winner 787B, the basic concept is the same.
This animation gives you a general feel for how the 4 rotor engine would appear during normal operation. Look how all the rotors offset each other, none of them are at the same alignment at the same time.
