Screwdriver Bit Found in Engine!
Theses are pictures from a customer’s engine that was torn down at Pineapple Racing. While disassembly removing the rear plate was extremely difficult; everything seemed to be stuck together. We have never torn apart an engine as difficult as this, as you can see the bearing was literally stuck to the eccentric shaft.
The eccentric shaft and all parts were difficult to remove from each other. The damage was in result of a large piece of steel, which appears to be the tip of a screwdriver bit that was found inside the engine. It also appeared to lack oil, as there was a lot of friction inside the engine which also caused seize up. Although the screwdriver probably made the oil seize up. The engine was basically destroyed, and the customer needed all new parts. They basically got a brand new engine. Anyways, here are the pictures for your viewing pleasure.
