Blake,
I just recently took my apart and I was wondering if I can dip the rotor housing and the side housings in the Berryman solvent???? Would this damage the surface of the rotor housings and the side housings?? Thanks JP

I'm not familiar with that brand in particular and, in general, we don't use too many solvents in the shop due to environmental compliance issues. Our usual method of primary cleaning is a giant steam oven, in which you can fit a whole engine. After that, we mostly media blast (glass bead), mechanically scrape, light sanding, wire brush, stone and non-chlorine brake cleaner (basically, alcohol). Different methods for different parts, of course. I have heard that many people advocate a tub of Carb Cleaner in which to dunk parts, but that stuff is really nasty. Sorry I can't be more help.
