Here is a short video clip explaining and showing how the rotary engine's lubrication system works.  It shows the wankel's individual oil parts, explains what they do, and has a short animation of it working together. 

There are many modifications you can do to increase performance in a Mazda RX-7. You basically have to imrpove the oil grooves through the engine with a dye grinder or similiar porting tool in order to achieve better oil lubrication.
