The 13A Series
Rotary Engine History
The 13A motor was designed specifically for front wheel drive vehicles. This engine was used in the 1969-1972 R130 Luce. The 13A had two 655 cc rotors with a combined total of 1310 cc.
This was the only rotary engine from Mazda production that had different rotor dimensions. The rotors’ diameters were 120 mm (4.7 in) and the offset was 17.5 mm (0.7 in), but the rotors’ depths were the same as previous 10A, at 60mm (2.4 in).
