Blake Qualley who was a rotary engine enthusiast, entrepreneur, writer, photographer, racer and the founder of RotaryEngineIllustrated, and helped build RebuildingRotaryEngines.com has past away late October. Blake was known for his famous RX-7 and a half, and much more. A picture below.

We send our condolences to the family and we are very sad in the rotary engine community about the news. Blake Qualley was an extremely talented, well spoken individual who helped create this website, and helped many people throughout his lifetime.

Blake Qualley, we will miss you! NW RX-7 Forum

- Please take a look for yourself at how he has helped others, there is to much to mention here. In the Northwest they are putting on a special drive in his honor, the animations you see today on RotaryEngineIllustrated were created by Blake, and the videos on RebuildingRotaryEngines was the camera work of Blake.

We appreciate everything he has done for us, and his animation and work will be continue to be shown forever with this website. Rest In Peace, Blake We'll Miss You.

Blake provided a TON of help, insight, and interesting info to a LOT of us, over the years. I haven't owned an RX-7 or visited this site in several years, but to return on a drunken whim and suddenly see this really makes me sad. I never met Blake in person, but he sure seemed like one of those truly good guys who would answer anyone's question, even if it was something simple or stupid. Whatever your thoughts about an afterlife, my guess is that Blake will be alright.
