Replacing the Pilot Bearing & Seal

Rotary Engine Rebuilding Video

Here is a 5 minute video clip showing how to replace the pilot bearing. The pilot bearing should be changed when you rebuild your engine ideally. It is a fairly expensive part but is extremely important in supporting the transmission.

We explore how to check the bore after the bearing has been removed. We show you how to remove it with the Mazda factory pilot bearing tool. The video ends by showing how to install a new pilot bearing and seal. We also show a special tool that Pineapple Racing created to resurface the eccentric shaft's bore. If you have any questions about this process please post all questions on our forum.

As always, remember each week we are producing new videos showing how to rebuild a rotary engine. If you have any requests on topics you'd like cover please post them in the forum. To stay up to date, please join our mailing list. Each week we'll send you a short email simply letting you know that a new video is available for viewing. If you have any questions about the special tools you saw in the movie please contact Pineapple Racing.
