RENESIS AnimationHere is one of the best animations of the rotary engine I have ever seen. It shows the complete build of the rotary engine, and indepth animation on how the intakes open and the cycle is run.

Great Animation of the RENESIS

This is a great clip I found showing the anatomy of the renesis engines. Whats interesting is it puts it all together like an assembly then runs the animation. The animation is indepth, and shows that there are two intake ports for each rotor housings.

Almost all animations only show intake coming from one side, but its really air intake coming from the two side housings which squish together the rotor and it's housing. Although the only problem with this animation is that the spark plug ignition firing is not correct, but its an overall good animaton, one of the best I've seen yet.

If you enjoyed this animation, you'll also find some of our other animations interestings too.

Great animation of the Rotary Engine. Our rotary group has been kicking around the idea of coming up with some exhibits or demos to illustrate what a wankel engine is and how the Mazda Rotary engines are designed and how they function. Some of these videos on an interactive laptop along with an exploded view of a rotary engine would be great. Where could we go to get these videos on a DVD for public exhibits and educational purposes? My email address is ebrdcr70@msn.com

Thanks for the inspiration to pursue putting an exhibit together.

yes the firing is incorrect... and also... peep the exhaust port... its placed on the side housing when it suppose to be on the rotor housing... also see how the exhaust hangs to indicate this mistake.

Actually from what I've read the exhauts ports aren't suppposed to be on the rotor housing. It was a design change for the Renesis from previous iterations.

And uh whoops, didn't see your lower reply... identity change confused me >_>

who cares , id take any rotary engine, especially an MSP and that animation kicks ass

When does the firing take place then?
I'm confused
Wes (IP:24.22.50.44) 2006-12-07 07:19:14

Hey guys, I'm confused.

I did not know that several of the engines have different times for firing to take place. I guess it just depends, although I heard that the firing is correct on this and will change the description after finding out 100%.
Hey guys hold up!

Yo guys don't get angry about the placement exhaust port or the firing order. This is an improvemnt over the standard concept of Wankel engine. Overall I think the designers of RENESIS has done a great job. It's advancement of Rotor engine technology, seems more of a science than motormechanics.

What is supposedly wrong with the firing order and how are you to judge it from this video? Lead and trail appear to be going off at the same time which sometimes on a Renesis the trail is ahead of the lead and under most conditions the lead goes back to leading. It would not be possible to know which is doing which from this vid. Also the illustration does not show two intake ports per rotor but in fact three. These are my observations. It's quite well done.

If not mistaken the lower spark plug goes off at the same time as the top plug for the ignition then again before the rotor has turned fully to the next cycle witha "wasted" spark in order to simplify the timing between the two rotor housings.

hows it goin im doing a presentation on the rotary for my first year coms class in college and from this animation and study of the new renesis its clear whats been done, with the old engines the intake and exhaust ports where too close meaning the intake got heatedon the way in, on the renesis they have been moved.also anyone willing to point me in the right direction for some good animations on the rotary???

very big roky engine
bward (IP:198.82.67.65) 2007-03-12 16:17:51

actually, the timing and everything is correct. if you look closely, there is an exhaust port on the rotary housing as well as the side. both spark plugs are supposed to go off at the same time due to the amount of air/fuel that was compressed.
Please can anyone else give me

Hola, Me ha gustado mucho. Si alguien me lo puede dar se lo agracedería.

Hello, I like this video so much. If someone have it and can send it to me... Thanks !! laserlupe@yahoo.es
seal problem
Ben (IP:63.245.129.176) 2007-03-20 08:13:49

I think that they should move the spark plugs down a little bit so it wouldn`t push so hard on the opposite side of the wall. I think it put less stress on the seals witch would make ti last longer.
