If you are looking for detailed information about the 20B 3 Rotor Engine:
Horsepower, History, Usage, etc, click the hyperlink above.
The 20B Engine is a 3 Rotor verison of the Wankel. The 20B has an increase in horsepower, size, and weight. It is used mainly in heavy rotary cars like the luxury Cosmo, and race cars. Well you do not see too many of theses engines around. They were only in a select few cars, the Cosmo to name one of them. Nothing in the
USA
came stock with them. There are a lot of rotary cars that do a 20B conversion, although handling is lost because the engine is much heavier than a traditional 13B engine. The 20B is a very powerful beast though at an amazing (aprox) 1.95L with twin turbos they are quick! If you want to do a 20B conversion make sure you have a deep wallet because it’s going to get expensive.
These images were taken from Pineapple Racing, from a 20B race motor they were building. Notice how the center plate is large, different eccentric shaft. A 4 rotor eccentric shaft would be similar to this 20B eccentric shaft but add on another additional extra shaft pieces as pictured below. The Dowel pins are the same, but the tension bolts are different sizes. More or less, its the same engine but with another rotor housing.
